Favorite Edmonds Features

Post by carlk3 »

What are your favorite features at Edmonds?

Here are my favorites, but we need new ideas and destinations.
  • Lopez Pontoon - 100' x 20' x 13' tall concrete (picture from last year)

  • Cathedrals - four large structures (This picture and the rest from last Sunday)

  • Slinky - a long spiral to swim through

  • Triumph - the ruins of 70' wooden tug (note the huge ling cod)

We had a great dive on Sunday (Our 50th! dive!), but we tend to visit these features over and over again. What should we explore next?

My favorite way to dive Edmonds is to take the following tour:

1. Out to boat yard
2. South to slinky
3. Over to Drydock for swim through and circle around
4. Follow milk crate line north to enhancements
5. Continue north for cathedrals swim through
6. Angle northwest for Lopez pontoon swim around and inner chamber swim
7. Swim northeast to Tubehenge and zig zig three or four times north to south while heading east
8. Back to shore

This dive takes about 90 minutes plus and is a totally awesome tour.

Newbs should not go to the drydock as you cannot surface next to the ferry.

Is "Maze" (near Zig Zag) worth visiting?

Anything else?

Also, is my memory right that trails such as Glacier Way and Centennial Way are harder to follow than Jetty Way and Northern Lights?
