Feb 19/21 Point Hudson

Post by Dusty2 »

Point Hudson never disappoints WHEN I can get in the water. I guess two days out of 4 ain't bad for Hudson in the winter. The 20th we didn't make it because of wind and a free flowing reg, The 22nd it was horizontal rain and high surf.

Sometimes getting out of bed at 0-dark 30 has it's perks. We were treated to a spectacular sun rise while we suited up on the 19th and once in the critters lined up to get there photos taken.

First thing up was a really nervous stubby squid that hadn't yet realized the sun was up. This little guy was fun to watch because he just couldn't get his timing right. He would fidget a bit then lift up and fly a foot or so then settle to the bottom while making a little smoke ring.

Not too many nudies but I did find a couple reds laying eggs to start the year off right.

then it was on to crabs and finny critters.

The scaly heads are in the mood and the guys are showing off for the girls.

and this cute little PSL was wishing a guy would show up cause she was about ready to pop!

and of course you got to have a

and what set would be complete without a

You sure got the spectrum of critters covered. Starting with beautiful sunrise over Whidbey Island :) :supz:

I take photos because I like it, not because I'm good at it. :) by Unknown

So where are all the pix you took? You were out there before us and after us too. You got to have some good stuff in there.

Ah yes, I thought I had seen them. My little P&S has it's advantages at a place like Hudson especially with the diopter.

Beautiful sunrise photo! Pt. Hudson has SO much diversity in marine life . . .
