Red Octopus eggs?

Post by dphershman »

I was diving at Redondo today and came across several small GPOs and red octopus. One Red was at the entrance of a pvc pipe, stretching its body across the opening in a protective fashion. I took a few pictures of it, but when I got home and viewed the photos I saw a pink mass that I hadn't noticed while on the dive. Its slightly blurry, but the mass looks to be slightly granular, so I'm wondering if these are Red Octopus eggs? They're quire small, but I'm scratching my head as to what they might be otherwise.

H2odoc has a cool video showing what the red octo on eggs look like, maybe he can post it! (the eggs were whitish yellow and look quite different from this from what I can remember)
