Warbonnets at Browning Pass

Post by KeithBoll »

I had a lot of fun diving with Dale at Browning Pass last week. Favorite dive sites were Browning Wall, North Browning Wall, 7 Tree Island and Rock of Life. Viz was 40 to 70 feet for most of the week. My favorite dive experience was probably North Browning Wall. On one dive I spotted 7 warbonnets on the wall. At this point - I just plain ran out of deep water time and had to start drifting to higher waters! Warbonnets were between 80 to 100 feet on the underhangs on the wall.

Yes! Browning Pass is about a 2 hour boat ride North of Vancouver Island. You depart on a boat from Port Hardy and go North from there. God's Pocket and The Hideaway are the two places that operate currently in this area. Both places have great experts to take you to the right spots and to keep you safe.
