Salt Creek July 24-25

Post by Gdog »

Arlene and myself were joined by Calvin Tang, Gabbi, and Mike Penders last weekend for a camp and dive trip at Salt Creek. The weather was all over the place, with some sun, and some rain. We had a blast diving camping and hanging out. We managed a couple dives at Salt Creek, and then a rinse dive at Lake Crescent. I didnt really get that much for photos, but here are a few to share;

Was the viz that awesome really? Or is that the wide angle view?

Gdog, excellent colors and saturation. That scale worm is one of the best I've seen. Looks 3D. Wish I could have joined you.

The Crescent Lake shots were both wide angle and awesome vis. The Salt Creek shots were macro and vis varied; from shore out to about 35 fsw the vis was not great, like 12' or so. Beyond 35fsw the vis improved quite a bit to maybe 20' or so.

Cool pics George!

The crab looks like a pygmy rock crab. Always a cool find, they usually live in giant barnacle casings and are usually very shy!

Did your wife dive?

Dunno how I missed this thread but better late than never!

As Gdog said a great time was had by all :norris:

I hadn't ever dived Salt Creek (whoa KELP!) and hadn't been to Lake Crescent for a dive since way back in 2008 :calvin:

I gotta say a big THANK YOU to Arlene, for keeping us cozy and fed the entire time. She is definitely the Martha Stewart of camping! Here are some topside pics from the trip. I'm still waiting to get back to my bigger screen'd computer to go through the underwater ones.
