Whale sightings

We usually welcome the gray whales in January or February. While cleaning up after the storm this morning we saw a single gray whale swimming in the shallows between Everett and Hat Island. I wonder if the El Nino brought them here early?

They should be starting to travel south. We usually see them in November and December in Oregon. There's always a few early ones, then more of a "crowd" around Xmas.
