Presentation on my DCS Hit - January 30th

Post by John Rawlings »

For those interested, I will be doing a formal Powerpoint presentation on all the aspects of the DCS Type II Hit that I suffered this past summer. It will be at TL Sea Diving in Des Moines at 7:00 PM on January 30th.

This presentation is for their dive club. However, shop owner Lavonne Terkla has informed me that it is no problem for others to come as they still have spots open. HOWEVER.....if you want to come you MUST call TLSea Dive Center and reserve a slot so that they can make sure they are set up for everyone.

In other words, walk-ins will be.....ahem...."frowned upon". :pale:

Here's the address and number:

TLSea Dive Center
23405 Pacific Hwy South
Des Moines, Washington 98198

(206) 824-4100

(888)-44TLSEA

Wish I could go, I have to work that night. Please post if you are going to do another- maybe on a Fri/Sat/or Sun night? I read your article in ADM, and am really glad you have been able to continue to dive. My diving family (me, wife and son) are looking forward to meeting you, you have a lot of knowledge and experience to tap into.

Just a "bump" as a reminder to anyone interested. It's next week on Tuesday night.

A huge THANK YOU to John for your amazing presentation on the "Anatomy of a Hit." Your talk was informative, humbling and thought provoking. The room was abuzz afterward, and I heard at least 3 people say that they were either signing up for DAN coverage tomorrow, or increasing the level of the their coverage.

Well Done John! =D> =D> =D>

John... Well done! :prayer:

I want to echo what Val and Keith had to say!

I understand that John will be doing more of these presentations. All you folks who hang out at NWDiveclub should really try and catch one of these, AND bring another diver with you!

I love the idea of spreading good, solid information about the habits and practices of safe diving. It makes the prospect of being in the water all that more fun!

Thanks again John,

Tom

Echoing Valerie, Keith and Tom - Thanks ever so much for well planned, though provoking talk on your DCS hit.

Speaking from the perspective of one who has "been there", it was gratifying to have another's story presented in such an informative...and yes...entertaining...presentation.

You rock!

The next one is tentatively scheduled for March 7th with the Emerald Sea Dive Club.

You can watch the club website for updates on that:

I think that they have their meetings at the Alfy's Pizza in Lynnwood.

This is just a "bump" to remind those that might want to attend.

I will be giving my presentation on my neurological DCS "Hit" at the Emerald Seas Dive Club meeting tomorrow night, Wednesday, March 7th.

The general club meeting is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM, and they usually have their guest speakers start at 8:00 PM. I asked their president if non-members could come and he said, "the more the merrier!", so it will probably be a good chance for some of you to meet a north-end dive club and see if you might want to join.

The Emerald Seas Dive Club meets at Alfy's Pizza @ 4820 196th SW, Lynnwood, (425) 775-5459.

I look forward to meeting/seeing any of you that might choose to come!
