I've seen lots of Octopus and a six gil while diving here, but don't think I want to see one of these!

Humboldt squid in Discovery Bay from the PT Leader

This Humboldt Squid was found July 26 washed ashore on Discovery Bay about a mile south of Beckett Point. The squid weighed 59 pounds and was about 10 feet long, although the suction-cup (with teeth) tips of its eight arms were missing. Port Townsend's Jamie Hodgson lies next to it for a size reference. The Humboldt Squid is described as one of the most ferocious predators of the sea. No you don't they do not fear you. Squid are the only thing that scare me in the water.
