TTN Last Night.

Postby cardiver » Tue Jul 27, 2010 9:35 am

I met up with Keith at 830 last night. I mean, I was there at 830 and Keith was there at 930........
When we finally got in the water we decided to hit the junkyard, as we had done the deep dive straight out from the entry early that same morning. Visibility was better than it was earlier in the day and we could see as far as our lights penetrated the darkness.
We spotted several small octos, one large GPO under the golfball boat, and numerous stubby squid. As we made our way shallow for our return to the entry, I happened to turn my head to the right to check on Keith but had a very large dogfish bearing down on me instead. This guy swam right into my face and then dipped down between my legs and was gone! I'm guessing that this is the same guy that was messing around with H2O a few months ago, but who knows.....
It turned out to be a great dive with a great (albeit late) dive buddy. Now if I can just figure out how to get my DC glove rings off of my suit rings that I installed backwards life will be good.
I'm also posting a pic of the ink bottle that Keith found a couple of weeks ago.

Nice pics Ron! And I know why Keith was "late". Trust me, it was a good reason!

The other bottle was found at the same bottle field a while back. It's a great conversation piece. That is a whole clam shell inside the bottle. Kind of like the "Ship in a bottle" thing. :supz:

Nice black background Ron!

Poor guy. Can you imagine what it was like for him living like that? Every time he went to a job interview or on a date he'd listen to the same dumb questions. "Yes it's really a bottle. No, I don't know how I got in here. Yes, I've already tried that. No, I can't grant wishes. I look all bottled up. Ha Ha. Yes, actually I have heard that before. EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE!" I envision an enraged Lewis Black in there trying to fight the world but only being able to rattle around and stick his tongue out of the mouth of the bottle.

I saw your dogfish last night at TTN with my wife. Must be the same - it looked large, bold (went straight toward me and turned very close then circled a few times), and probably around the same spot (about 20-30fsw, a little NW from the tire piles)
