Club Dive! Club Dive! Club Dive! September 18th!

I was hoping it was somebody's Halloween costume, but these days you never know. If there's a story behind the avatar photo I'd like to hear it.

We had an excellent turnout today, with lovely weather, delicious food, great company, an excellent beer selection, and apparently even the viz cooperated nicely. I came home with two very tired puppies and no bags of chips. Thanks everyone, it was a great day!

Also a big hug to our cruise director, Penelope, for pulling it all together and being a gracious hostess.

I didn't meet all the people I had hoped to, and two dives is not enough to dive with all the people I would have liked to have dived with. But thanks to Bob and Vlad for the company underwater!

Thanks to Penelope and everyone else who made it such a success. Just before we headed for Redondo this morning, I took a look at my log on my laptop computer and realized that the first dive of the day would also be a milestone for me: my 300th dive. It was delightful to have it be with the club. This group is the best!

What a fantastic day. It's like the clouds parted just for our little club dive (club dive! club dive!). Biggie Ups to Penelope for pulling it all together, and to the other folks who brought BBQs, food, canopies, chairs and big smiles. Thanks to Scott for bringing the prizes (beautiful prints of photos he shot). I got to put some faces to names today of some people who I've been chatting with online for ages but never actually met in person. That was great. Defied and I made up, that was great. Even flooding the drysuit seemed like a "fun" first experience given all the other great old and new friends around. And on top of it all I ate like 3 Top Pot doughnuts for breakfast. It doesn't get much better, folks. Thank you all!

WOW! Best club dive ever. Fantastic turnout, great vis, lots of food, lots of dive buddies, and lots of diving.

Got back after the final dive to find almost everyone gone and a bunch of random goodies sitting next to my tailgate. I put it all in a box and brought it home. Some of this stuff looks like it wasn't meant to be left behind ... an aluminum water bottle, a huge bunch of blue zip ties, etc. I'll go thru it all in the morning, but if anybody's missing stuff please let me know.

Thanks to Ms. P and all the other folks who came out and put effort into everybody's great time.

very awesome day. i love how yall had everything set up. and every single person i met today was amazingly nice. and willing to give advice and explain things to a newbie. and also ty to the guys who helped me with my 1st O-ring problem. i would have been lost without the help. i really wish i was able to stay here in wa now. i wish the army wasnt moving me. but i do hope to stay on here and keep meeting people for when i come back a couple times a year to see wifeys fam. thank you for one awesome day.

What a great day for my first club dive... thanks to the organizers for putting it together and for ordering the great weather. Special thanks to Liz for letting me use her backplate/wing and weight harness... it worked great!

What a great day! Thanks to Penelope for putting it on, and it was great to meet everyone. The viz was great, the weather held out, and everyone was so friendly. Can't wait to see everyone again up here at our home spot, Keystone!

Wow, what a great way to start a Saturday. :-) Really wish I didn't have to leave at 2pm as I did -- would loved to have chatted with more people! But so happy to get to meet all those I did. Great group. I'm glad to be a part of it, even if it does take me four hours to get up here. :-)

I enjoyed the dives as well! It was amusing swimming through a field of nudis, and the jelly fish swooping in for the kill of whatever it was....amazing!!!! and then the baby wolfeel who was camera shy! and then flooded light.....and then!.....stuff lol

The most memorable part of the day...writing my handle down and i think it was ktb or liz who said "You're Dashrynn!" ...i almost bolted for the van to hide in fear of hell coming down on me. Turned out they just like exclaiming things real loud....in my direction...with a little sarcasm...

Today was great, i met alot of people (dinosaurs and new sprouts) heard about ancient underwater note taking tablets, seen scuba noms noms in the shape of a thong, saw squid and a crazy jellyfish, met an arch nemesis or 4 (or more) laughed (sometimes at their expense..but only sometimes), saw some shocker action, humped an unsuspected videographer, swam upside down, back kicked (poorly) with split fins, and overall...met some amazing smiling people.
