Hey Jan ...

Post by Grateful Diver »

I finally found something I've been looking for since I saw it on your Whidbey Island Critters thread. I hadn't seen one before.

I was out lumpie hunting last evening and came across one of these exquisite little beasties ... so what the heck is it, again?

Image

I managed to get one lumpie shot before my camera decided to quit working for the evening ... apparently I forgot to change the battery after three dives on Sunday, but at least it didn't quit till I got what I went down there for ...

Great shot Bob ! It sure took you less time find the Sapsucker then it took me too see my first Lumpsucker.
I have yet to see one little bigger then the tiny babies I found at Keystone. Now you will find the Sapsuckers
much more frequently, since you know what to look for. It was that way with me...

Very cool find! I probably would have finned right over that. Where were you PLS hunting? I was thinking just the other day that it is that time of year again :-)

Redondo ... but folks are finding them all over Puget Sound right now. Go at night, and look in the eel grass.

Well we found a tiny (thumbnail sized) PSL out at Redondo. Got a few good shots :-) Also, if someone has not seen a Hooded Nudibranch... they were everywhere is the eel grass.
