Another great day on the hood canal. Vis above 40' was about 30' and down past 60 - 100' was a good 40' vis.
Herring balls are in so there were a lot of dog fish, just didn't any pictures of them. Lots of seals darting around, but my camera or I was not fast enough to get a picture.
Found this war bonnet about 95'. Lots of nudi's all different sizes. Still quite a few lion manes and moon jellies.
Noticed a lot of large rock fish in the shallows, hopefully the oxygen is not a problem this early in the year.

Re: Hood Canal
on the egg ribbon picture, there are egg deposits, but they all look different. assuming the little slug shown is not a masochist, which of the two bundles are hers?

The lower one. The big one looks like it might be a shaggy mouse. If you look real close there is a tiny third egg mass inside the larger egg mass in the lower left. Also there is another nudie inside the large ring on the left side.
That's what I like about criters. The closer you look the more you see.

Re: Hood Canal
My highlight of the day was when Dale gave me the signal that something big was swimming around. After a moment Dale tossed up his hands and started to swim off, on cue right behind his back a seal appeared. The seal cocked it's head and playfully turned upside down and just as Dale turned around it swam away! I laughed in my reg!

jeepers dusty, do you have your computer hooked up to a 67 inch high def monitor or something?? nice find on the hidey slugDusty2 wrote:The lower one. and, I notice the majority of the egg yolks are at the top of the egg. is that random? does the yolk float to the top? is it closer to sunlight that way?

Re: Hood Canal
Dale, you starting to get some nice exposures. I think you've made it to the threshold where now using the strobes more effectively that what you could have got with your built-in flash.
Hopefully we'll have some great vis this weekend.
