Met up with diverbob and Eliseaboo for an exploratory dive at the Reconciliation Park or Chinese Garden as some call it.(Near The Pagoda) Not much to report on this dive.
After surveying the entry we threw some of the gravel from the beach on to the lower three flat rocks, to counter the slippery green surface. But other than that, the entry is very easy. And as a North West Pacific advantage we had covered parking to get us out of the rain. Also, There is a Shower at this site! Not currently turned on, but would be nice in the summer months! Elise got about 20 pics or so and I got Zero worth keeping. My best pics were at the surface.
We went srtaight out, down to 90 feet and then swam 30 minutes into the light current, as we came back up. at the turn we were at 40 to 30 feet as we came back, surfaced right at the entry,, so that was good. There were some bottles spaced out far from each other and I did manage to bring back a cool BIRELEY'S Soda bottle. I have not cleaned it up yet so here is a stock photo from the internet (1920's to 1950's )
2nd dive was over at Les Davis.
Not an epic dive, but still alot of fun!
Vis was okay and we saw some big ol' Lingcod. elise even found a nice Wolfie!
Early in the dive I found a fresh chicken Leg and a Sausage!

Oh yeah...I forgot I was going to post stuff!
Well, I had a few photos worth sharing. First from Reconcilliation Park a baby octo in a bottle! This guy was so cute, I just wanted to pick up the bottle and take him home! But, I resisted.
Next, a sad photo :( This sailfin sculpin got caught in an abandoned crab cage...which will attract more things to the cage to get caught a die and attract more animals..."ghost fishing" is a sad thing.
Next, a few from Les Davis..
And finally...one to ID...

Thanks to Eliseaboo and Bassman for a great day of diving on Thursday! Just as predicted, there was not much to see at the Chinese Garden site. Keith and I did find identical liquor bottles that are post prohibition, but still cool! I would like to do this site again in the summer and focus on bottles. I would also like to dive the old pier site as well.

Nice pics, everyone!
Bob, you will love to dive at Shenanigan's the next time we go there. Lots of bottles at depth and great life on the pilings in the shallows.

I want to dive that site, so that when someone asks where I am diving, I can turn to them and yell "SHENANIGAN's!!"cardiver wrote:Nice pics, everyone!

Kinda like "cockamamie". Now that would make a good pub name.eliseaboo wrote: I want to dive that site, so that when someone asks where I am diving, I can turn to them and yell "SHENANIGAN's!!"

Actually, I think the first time I dove Shenanigan's was with Bob (diverbob)!
Is that correct, Bob?
It's too many dives and not enough Thursdays, that's starting to affect my memory. That's my excuse!
