What does "shun, etc" mean, exactly? I don't get it.

shun
v shun [ʃan]
to avoid or keep away from.

Example:

Diver 1: "Hey, I heard CO2Nurse uses sea cucumbers as sex toys on her dives."

Diver 2: "Really? I'm not sure I agree with that!"

Diver 1: "Yeah, me either. I guess we should avoid or keep away from her."

Diver 2: "You mean shun?"

Diver 1: "You got it."

Yep. It's a free country, sort of- well, last time I checked, anyway. All of us are allowed to pick who we want to dive with. Or hang out with.

Are you saying that by NOT writing about something you did, you're hoping to dive with someone who would choose not to dive with you, if you DID write about it?

I'm saying I'd love to share.. with a group about my bad dives.. but I don't wanna be slammed on.. that's all.. as for who will dive with me and who won't?.. I don't have the answer to that question

Stop checking or the NDWC black helicopter will be landing shortly.

Chris, we won't allow any slamming in this thread. There may be some questions or suggestions as a result, though, so you do have to be prepared for that.

I, one time, had my pistol light hanging all crazy from my D-ring while it was turned on, and the light swinging around created a rave type environment which resulted in many teenagers wacked out on extasy and wearing glow sticks invading our divesite and hugging everyone...

It was hella wack :BDub:

Hmm, I tried to keep it at the facts, but appreciate your perspective.

But on the other hand, I know what i should have done too, and thats not get seperated. And the blame for that falls soley on me. It was me getting floaty that caused it. And I need to really learn how to get that last air thats trapped down at my feet out.
I forget, did I already suggest finkeepers to you? Cheap little rubber stirrup things? I wear them on every dive, they work great for me.

I'm not seeing how they'd work, versus the dive rite gaiters.

They limit the amount of gas that can get into your drysuit boot. I love 'em, won't dive without 'em. And did I mention cheap? Worth a try for floaty feet.

I already wear rock boots, so the air is trapped up higher.

Then never mind- I get air trapped in my feet, but never around my shins. Sounds like maybe gaiters would work?

IMO, the dive rite gaiters suck. The Golem Gear gaiters are much better.

The DR gaiters don't fit snugly around the whole lower leg. The straps also tend to come loose. The golem gaiters wrap completely around the leg with an elastic material, like a heavy duty ace bandage. They also have wide, robust Velcro tabs that will not loosen once they are secured. I used the GG gaiters for quite a while with my old suit and never had any complaints or problems with them.

I dive wet 50% of the time, and dry 50% of the time.

When I'm dry, I love my finkeepers and Halcyon Gaiters. My boots are integrated and the finkeepers cinch them down perfectly. Before finkeepers my boots would inflate and the fins would feel like they were floating off my feet.

Also, my shell suit is on the baggy side. The gaiters keep things nice and trim. They take about 20 seconds to put on.

When I'm wet, I don't bother with all this crap. :)
