Whole squid for dissection

Post by eliseaboo »

Hi all, a strange request but people on this forum seem to have connections...anyone know of a source where I can get whole squid to dissect by next Friday? It can be frozen or not, it doesn't matter, but I need about 20 or so. It isn't really the season for squid so I'm having trouble finding any sizeable quanitity of them, but maybe someone has seem them in an oriental grocery or something?

You could ask Seattle Aquarium for some of there's? They buy them by the case. Possibly Point Defiance as well.

I am not sure the best contact anymore.

Have you tried one of the seafood processors? Ocean Beauty has a plant near Seattle and they have frozen squid for bait. I'd call first though to make sure you don't end up buying 50 pounds.

Good luck.

Go to Ranch 99 by Edmonds. They sell them year round. You should have told me on our dive today. We could have stopped by before the EUP dive. Disecting them? What kind of study is this? I would rather eat them as Calamari. :uh:
When was the last time you did something for the first time?

The better Asian restaurants in Seattle are probably buying from http://www.mutualfish.com/ and they can ship to you.
