Her dive buddy told me he was doing a "rescue push" after I helped him out of the water onto shore. Maybe was supposed to be a rescue tow, I dunno, thought maybe it was some new rescue technique I wasnt aware of.
Glad to hear the lady is still alive.

- I got a good squirt in my mouth
- I would imagine that there would be a large amount of involuntary gagging
- I don't know about you but I'm not into swallowing it

Re: Dive Accident at Keystone today
I was required to both push and pull distressed divers in my rescue class. Pushing is quite a bit more effective since you can really get your legs up and parallel to your direction of travel.

Re: Dive Accident at Keystone today
There are tows, carries, and pushes that are part of the Rescue class curriculum. It's also not uncommon for Rescue students to still be at a point in their dive career that they are renting. "First dive" could refer to the first dive of the class, or of the day.

forwarded from a SB post on the other thread:
dadztoy wrote:UPDATE CLASSMATES: It is with a sad heart that I am telling you this news. After the warming process, Deb's family was given the news that she has no brain activity and they will begin turning the machines off. Deb is an organ donor so they are taking care of this process. Even in her passing, she is still giving.
When I know more information I will pass it along. Thanks for the prayers and support.

My deepest condolences to the family, and enormous gratitude to Deb. Many will get a second chance or improve their lives thanks to her.

The tears are flowing, here and I know all over the board too. None of us wanted this outcome and we all are diminished by her passing. The only joy is that others may be saved by her loss. God Bless those who had to make this difficult decision.
So sorry this had to happen and my sincerest condolences to everyone suffering from this loss.

Ah, it's a tough one to hear.
But! I know that some of the finest people were there to assist in this incident!

thats a tough read...
Quite a number of people worked their asses off to try and save her. One always hopes the reward of their efforts results in the best outcome...
sad indeed.
