Bay goby?
Bay goby?
After seeing Jan's latest post, I got to wondering about a fish I saw at Mike's Beach Resort on a night dive a couple of weeks ago. I thought for sure it was a blackeye, but I've been wrong before. Any thoughts?
Re: Bay goby?
I would say bay goby due to the black spot on the dorsal and also the black spot at the base of the tail.

Re: Bay goby?
I'm thinking bay goby. Blackeyes have a dark spot on the dorsal fin, but it's got a really defined edge. The spots on the caudal fin also look bay goby-ish. Lastly, if the pattern of spots looks like a snakehead prickleback, and it's not a snakehead prickleback, it's probably a bay goby.

Yes I agree with Bay Goby.
Here is one I saw at Sund Rock, a bit south of where you were.
