The adventure continues... Despite some milky vis and a low battery on my handheld, we got some decent video with the VR-EL3 3 modified gopro array over the weekend at Cove 2. Scan line sync means that all the Gopro’s Turn on and off at the same time and there is no dropped frames etc. So when you look down at the nadir (bottom) of the image, or at the stitch lines that all 3 cameras are moving exactly the same. This makes for more seamless stitch. This won’t fix the problem between the fins and the pole (me) getting too close to things and not listening to my own recommendations for ‘best practices’ but hey, I’ve always been a bit of a rule breaker and i love the ‘feeling’ that the closeup shots give even with the more noticeable stitch lines. Next up will be the VR-EL6 with sync generator (same generator just more hero-bus modules) and soon an app for controlling the whole mess I now have enough 360 camera arrays kicking around that I could probably be talked into putting on a workshop for those interested in learning some shooting and off axis lighting basics.

Re: VR-EL3 with sync generator
That was fun to watch.
Makes me want to buy a VR headset. If I'm having a bad day anywhere in the world I could pretend I'm diving back home at seacrest lol. Keep 'em coming!
