I always viewed the Langley Tire Reef as the result of human error. A sunken dream of breakwater design which ended as a marine life habitat for divers to enjoy. My new dive buddy's boat's side-scan sonar reveals completely different picture...
The maxim "Not seeing the forest for the trees" was probably created to describe me, for as many times as I dove here, looking closely for the critters using the jungle of tires as their home, I never knew how structured the seemingly tangled "reef" is.

That's very cool, Jan! I've only dived that site once, but you could not have convinced me there was any orderliness to it.
