There is an eye in there...and a spinal cord.... So what is it..? What does it do when it hatches ?

Oh, no eye, no spinal chord! What you're looking at is a digestive tract filled with poop! Really!!
Tunicates, aka Sea Squirts, aka Urochordates, are pretty complex and while they had a little spinal chord when they were larvae, called a notochord, it dissolved by the time they attached themselves to a rock and grew into an adult tunicate. They have an intake siphon, a complete digestive tract, and an outflow siphon too.
