Dominican Republic

Post by Tom Nic »

Anybody ever dove there? Any suggestions of where to get info?

I'll be spending some time there this next year and will have a couple of opportunities to dive, and wanted to take advantage of them!

John Chatterton is part owner of Pirate's Cove dive center in the DR. I think there is some pretty fantastic diving around there.

There's fantastic diving at Pirate's Cove Dive Center. It's one of ADM's favorite hang-outs!

Check out ADM E-Zine # 1 on page 44 for an article on it.

It is NOT just for tech and CCR divers. Plenty of recreational divers go there as well.

Hmmm.... glad to hear it. I had found their website and it looked like it was geared toward tech and ccr and not very rec friendly. I'll look closer. I'll be in Santo Domingo on the Southern part of the Island. I've found some spots out of Juan Dolio and Bayahibe, and hour or two out of Santo Domingo as well. Sounds like the best diving is on the Southern part of the island.
