That's the first time I've ever seen anybody HOLDING a wild fish!

These are so much fun, Jan! It's really great, learning about the stuff we generally walk on . . .

I love hermit crabs, and if you stop and watch them, you can see some really interesting behavior -- some of the dominance stuff that Jan refers to. I've seen about a dozen of them at Edmonds, engaged in what appeared to be a complicated group battle of some kind. I watched it for about five minutes, and couldn't quite figure out what the prize was, but it may just have been shells.

I can't tell you how many people I've met who said, "I gave up diving Puget Sound because there is nothing to see there." I guess you didn't get the word.

OMG, it's a baby scaled crab! I love my scaled crabs, but they're ten times that size, golden brown, and markedly striped. This is an AMAZING view of a juvenile of one of my favorite species. I needed the happy pictures tonight, Jan -- thank you.

Thanks Curt, Lynne for kind comments - we are, after all, kindred souls in this .. :grouphug:
So I read on BBC site that they documented last year Anemone catching a slug,
a first. Well , I have pictures dated May 2009, October 2012 and one
very recent on March 11, 2013. Only proves that our local waters rock ! :)

"Together we have made over 500 dives in the Indo-Pacific without observing sea anemones feeding on Nudibranchs"
See, there's the problem, they just don't dive as much as Jan.

Still the best thread on the internet, thanks Jan!

In all the years I found Aleutian moon snail only once, back in 2009 while diving
in Holmes Harbor. This time I didn't have to get wet ...

Was that a really small Armina, or was that Tritonia absolutely gargantuan?
