UTD Gear Check
UTD Gear Check
Last weekend we did the Taylor Bay Minesweeper/Subchaser, then went over to the Anna Foss Tug.
At the tug, instead of doing the usual, boring gearing up on the boat, Richard and I decided to toss our gear overboard and swim down and do our gear checks on the bottom at 20 or 25'
It's not as cool as Sockmonkey's acrobats, but it was fun
Here's Richard demonstrating the new UTD gear check

Re: UTD Gear Check
What's really sad but mostly annoying about Richard's sub surface seizure... is that even while flailing around without his rig... he has better buoyancy control and trim than most.

Re: UTD Gear Check
At first I thought I'd set it upright on the bottom. Then I realized there was no place to sit and just made the tank neutral to put it on. The big SLA canister kinda got in the way, then Brian tying my suit inflator in knots, but eventually got it all worked out...

I think this should be taught as the standard way of donning your gear in the UTD curriculum.

Re: UTD Gear Check
Lol, you needed Melody's help for just the ONE knot. What purpose would TWO knots have served?

Well, Dave and Spatty do dive together. It's all starting to make sense now
