I would agree, normally. But the software is designed to be used by users from a variety of locations, some of which do not observe DST, like Arizona, for example. And the rest of the world thinks we are rough and independent? How can that be when we docily, meekly, or whatever, get in line for a meaningless clock change just because we are told to?
The only box you have to think outside of is the one you build around yourself.

I really don't like how this daylight savings cuts into our night diving!
