Our Annual Whidbey Island Pumpkin Carving Contest was held at Langley Marina Sunday afternoon
under dark clouds, but it did not rain on our parade. It seems that less and less divers are interested
in poking holes into pumpkins underwater. Only four braved the murky, dark shallows and wrestled
with the buoyant gourds, utilizing their dive knives most likely for the first time since certification

Re: Pumpkin carving contest
I am absolutely interested in poking holes in pumpkins underwater!! It seems a lot of people work weekends these days though (at least, I do...)
What great photos and pumpkins though! I think people don't realize how difficult it is to carve a pumpkin underwater until they've done it. So I can appreciate those works of art!
