While surveying the muck flats at Penn Cove, I noticed one of the Horse clam long necks gyrating wildly
with something sticking out of its siphon. Upon closer examination, I found that it was a Pea crab, which
usually lives inside the clam. This looked like the clam is trying to get rid of the crab. I asked Greg, our
"in house" crab expert, what was happening there :

I was just looking at the last few pages you've put up -- I love the attention that the small and "ordinary" get. There is SO much life down there that most of us just swim over and don't think about, but you make us stop and look!

Counting starfish on the same Possession Fingers dive.
All healthy, but one Vermilion star wasting. Only once before I found this species affected.
Not one Sunflower star in sight :(

These guys and the elusive Manacled Sculpin are my nemesis, both finding and especially photographing.

Even after seeing hundreds of Moon jellies before, I was surprised to see something I never seen before.
Some of them were trailing four looooong tentacles. So I looked into it and found :
