Thanks for posting this info!

The piece you referenced and the Squamish Streamkeepers Society website http://www.squamishstreamkeepers.net/st ... rring.html leave me with some concerns though:

1. How will this wrapping affect the inverts that typically call these pilings home?

2. How long will this material and the attachment system last in salt water - also, what happens if this material starts falling off the pilings?

It would have been helpful if the article or the Streamkeepers website had given some background information such as whether this idea has been used elsewhere, what is the name of the material used, how is the material attached, who assumes what responsibility for maintenance and liability, etc.

Again - Cool article and an interesting concept; if someone with better 'Google' chops than mine could post some back-up information links I'd very much appreciate it.
