The vis when we got in for the first dive at the entry for the south wall was so crummy, we couldn't even do a bubble check! Once we got away from the shore, it got better enough to at least be divable. Below 60ft, the water got about 10 degrees colder (46F vs 56F according to my computer) and the vis improved substantially. We never ended up making to the north wall, but saw a lot of life in the shallows even with the crappy vis including two wolfies swimming out and about!
During the SI, we enjoyed the hamburgers penopolypants grilled up and chatted about all things diving.
For dive #2, we entered on the north side and hit up the north wall. As usual, the north wall delivered several wolf eels including two mated pairs and one octo tucked pretty far up in his den. While down there, we ran into the rest of the NWDC divers. They almost missed one of the mated pairs, but we caught their attention to point it out to them. We finished up our dive puttering around the shallows checking out some very large scallops and some schooling fish.
Thanks to penopolypants for organizing and to everybody who showed up. The parking situation was not nearly as bad as everybody had feared.
