Bait fish?

Post by coachrenz »

Saw a couple of huge polarized schools of these guys at Keystone.

This is the best picture I got. Anyone got a better ID than "Bait fish"?

I would reveal which way I am leaning, but that seems to just get me knocked down.

Hard to tell (weak eyes), but if they were darting back and forth as a school I my first guess would be Pacific Sand lance.

At the Critter Watcher dives last Saturday, saw a couple of schools of these. And they were indeed Pacific Sandlance.
