Salmon Shark at Redondo
On a dive today at Redondo near Salty's around 5PM I ran into a salmon shark bigger than my dive partner who is 5'10''. Has anyone else here had the pleasure of seeing one of these amazing but incredibly intimidating creatures?

Very cool!
Somebody else (I think that works at a local dive shop, can't remember for sure) recently mentioned they saw one out at the straights.

Re: Salmon Shark at Redondo
Could it be the "cow shark" seen in the recent Shark-dondo video?

Too bad if its a hoax...
In our sighting we were coming up the sandy area that cascades kind of between walls and we looked 'upslope' (it was a night dive) and barreling down the slope at us was something that looked like a smallish great white. My dive buddy was a fisheries major, studying salmon and things, and ran the sighting by prof's at the UW who confirm that there are Salmon Sharks in Puget Sound, they are occasionally caught as by catch by salmon fishermen.
