Gravid?

Post by dwashbur »

I'm thinking this shrimp looks kinda full of eggs,

especially when I compare it to this one.

But I'm not familiar with these things, so am I way off here? Or did we catch a glimpse of the next generation at Redondo yesterday?

Hi
I believe it is a stiletto shrimp, and it is not uncommon to see eggs inside these!
My trip report from 2/5 has one: http://nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=23956 (click-thru to see the eggs)

Jesse even got a pic of one laying an egg on another dive!

Cool find!
