We saw this at Edmonds, today. He's about 6 inches in diameter. Anyone know what it is?

Re: What is Jabba the Hutt?
Hi Carl,
I agree that it's an anemone; based on color and skin texture it looks like a partially retracted Giant Plumose Anemone aka Metridium farcimen.
We have an animal of roughly the same size and color at the Feiro Center - when fully expanded it's a bit over a foot tall and maybe 10 inches across the tentacle crown; when fully retracted it's less than 2 inches tall.
It's worth noting that the fully expanded height is quite variable and it seems that any given individual only grows tall enough to get the tentacle crown into a patch of water with desirable currents.
Adjustably yours,
Alex
