Congrats to our own brownick!

(aka Nick Brown, that is!)

Nick, with the aid of his REEF invertebrate ID training, found the invasive species, Ciona savignyi, this past summer while diving in the San Juans. It previously had not been sighted there at all - so this was quite a surprise! Anyway, an article recently appeared in the San Juan Journal about Nick's story and his smiling mug in dive gear appears there also.

It's nice to see a diver getting that kind of reconition.

Thanks everyone, though the credit should go to Janna as if it weren't for her, I probably wouldn't even know what Ciona savignyi was.
