If You Find a Mask At The Narrows...

Post by dwashbur »

It's probably my wife's. We lost it off the boat Sunday morning, probably in around 15-20 fsw, a couple hundred yards south of the bridge. I don't recall the make, it has a black frame around the lenses and a purge valve. We were gearing up to go in, and my wife did the spit thing in her mask. She handed it to the dive master and asked if he could dunk it for her. He held it by the snorkel and swished it in the water just as the captain moved the boat a little. He came up with the snorkel and no mask. We really felt bad for him, and thankfully she had a backup mask. In any case, if you come across it, cool. If not, oh well.

I lost a good 4 window mask and snorkle at tha Lobster Shop Dive site during my rescue class.
It just sucks when you have to throw in an extra $100.00 at the end of a dive day!
I realy liked that mask and the snorkle was a TUSA that was a good easy breather and extremly flexible.

It was actually the dive master who lost it. She handed it to him and asked him to dunk it for her, and he made the mistake of holding it by the snorkel. So the boat co. bought her a new mask. That minimized the pain of losing it and taught us all a valuable lesson about how to hold a mask when you're rinsing it...
