Sea Pens from Monterey

Post by dwashbur »

We found a couple of these at the Breakwater. They were at least a foot tall each. The first thing I notice is that they don't have the big bulbish thing on the bottom that our orange sea pens do. The shape is different, as well, and the pink color in these pictures is accurate. The closest I can find to ID it is the White Sea Pen, Stylatula elongata, but I'm not totally sure. Thoughts?
