Help a Girl's Best Friend- Count Octos This Weekend!

Post by scubaoctogirl »

Hey Divers!

This a friendly reminder that this weekend is the 8th Annual Puget Sound Giant Pacific Octopus Census sponsored by Seattle Aquarium and co-sponsored by Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. We need divers to put down that octopus sushi (puke) pick up your dive gear and head out February 16th-18th and put your octoholism to good use! Please go out and look for octos at local Puget Sound sites and report the information back to Roland Anderson at:

roland.anderson@seattle.gov
phone (206) 386-4371
fax (206) 386-4328

Here is the specific information we are looking for:
Date
Exact dive site
Den information
Indication of octopus size (tennis ball, cantaloupe, basketball, or BIG)
Indication of where the den is in relation to the entry point of the dive
Number of divers

This is a great excuse to get out and dive and the weather should be fantastic this weekend! Please help me help our local GPO populations! Have fun, be safe and I look forward to hearing from you guys this weekend. Thanks for participating, you guys rock! =D>
Don't eat octos...count them!
