ADM Issue 28 now out!

Post by John Rawlings »

I handed out a bunch of copies of ADM issues # 26 and # 27 at the recent NWDC club dive at Redondo, so hopefully they have made you folks hungry for more! Issue # 28 of Advanced Diver Magazine is now out and should be in subscribers' mailboxes already or within the next few days or so. :book:

I'm pretty excited about this one, as my 7-page article on Nootka Sound is in it, (Where Janna is diving right now!). Nootka Sound is MAGICAL....if you can ever make it there DO SO!!!! In addition to my article there are articles from literally around the World - Europe, Australia, Africa, the Caribbean and all over North America.

The articles in this issue include:

Curacao - Depths Unexplored (Caribbean)
The Photography of Richard Harris (Australia)
Virgins, Violence and Videotape (Sacrificial cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico)
The Shipwreck Photography of Leigh Bishop (United Kingdom and elsewhere)
Wreck of the RBJ (Florida)
Nootka Sound - Jewel in the Wilderness (Vancouver Island, Canada)
Doc Demille or Bust! (Key Largo wreck)
Mozambique - Whalesharks, Mantas and Wildlife (Africa)
Wreck of the Gordyi (Russian WWII Destroyer - Gulf of Finland)
Gold Hound Treasure Divers (Florida)
Wreck of the Marquette (Lake Superior)

We at ADM hope that our readers will enjoy this issue, and we'll be bringing you a LOT more in the future!

- John

I was one of the fortunate recipients of ADM #27. (Thank you John) I have to say it is a fantastic publication. I have read some of the articles more than once and as a result have not read them all yet. I especially liked the article written by John about the Nakwakto Rapids when he was there with Valerie. I can't wait to experience that! \:D/ And I really got into the story of the Bikini Atoll and all of the historical ships there and the diving opportunities. The Ice diving 101 story convinced me that I have to try it. Joe was already telling me about "Ice Waterskiing" and it really sounds fun. Imagine, standing up (inverted) on the ice, and having a surface team pulling you by your tether towards the hole, as fast as they can while you "skate" across the underside of the ice!?!?!? I have to do that!

Today I registered for the ADM E-Zine, and I will also subscribe to ADM hard copy.

Diving. . . is an active physical form of meditation. It is so silent- You're like a thought.

SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES. NOT REALLY GOOD FOR
ANYTHING, BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN PUSHED DOWN THE
STAIRS.

I loved the article about the exploratory diving in a Central American lake. Having lived down there and loving the culture it was especially fascinating.

That'll work, too! I would very much look forward to that trip! :salute:

By the way.....over the years I have heard complaints that ADM covers the use of rebreathers too much, generally said by people that have never really read it. (This has always amazed me, as where ELSE would rebreather dives be covered except in a publication like ADM?).

In issue # 28 there are 11 major articles. 9 of those 11 involve Open Circuit diving - some of them involving dives done with AL 80s. You certainly don't need to be a CCR diver to enjoy the articles in ADM, just have a love for adventure and unusual topics and locations.

I don't know what you're talking about. I dive with an aluminum 80 all the time. They make perfect bailout bottles for deeper dives. :supz:
