Scuba Plumbers

Post by Sockmonkey »

Now that's a water leak!

A light but interesting article about saturation diving in NY's water supply in the Times on Sunday:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/23/nyreg ... wanted=all

And a local commercial diving outfit here in Seattle gets a little press too.

My ex- works for Global. She sent me that link this morning. Interesting article. 2.5% O2 at 700 feet gives a PPO2 of like .55

Is that enough?

Very interesting article!

PPO2 of .21 is air at the surface, so .55 is plenty. If it was much higher, the saturation divers would run the risk of Oxygen Toxicity due to the very long exposures while in saturation.

I was going to go to work for Global when I got back up here, but instead went to school, and became a geek.

Nice Article, and Boydski owned the answer. 0]

You know, I should really think before I ask dumb questions. I just haven't been on the board for awhile, and wanted to contribute!
