POP Quiz!

Post by Pez7378 »

You and your buddy find yourselves stranded in the middle of the ocean. :crybaby: You've been there for a few days, so you both ditched all your scuba gear :smt119 . All you have is your exposure suits. You suddenly notice something floating in the water nearby. You swim over to it and discover that it's a plastic sack floating on the surface that contains 4 bottles of beer :occasion5: .(Let's say, since I'm drinking some now that it's REDHOOK ESB) They aren't twist tops, so how will you get them open so that you can drink 'em? :dontknow: (You cannot use your teeth.) [-X

Although there may be many ways to get these beers open, there is only one answer that I will accept.

A plastic sack of unopened beer doesn't float. You're hallucinating.

The plastic sack could be sealed and floating. It could happen!

To open them, take two bottles and point them top-to-top. Interlock the bottle caps so the edge of one catches the edge of the other. Pull. One or the other will come off. (Don't spill the beer fer cryin' out loud!)

The last unopened bottle becomes a challenge, but you can pop the top off that one by jamming the cap against the lip of an empty bottle, then slamming down hard with the palm of your hand.

This isn't a pop quiz. It is a BEER quiz. There's a difference you know.

The holding of the beers head to head and catching eachs lip with the other seem to be the only hard surface...unless you could think of something to do with the zipper handles(exposure suit) such as using the zipper to pry the lid a little by little?

Maybe my springstraps?

I think the use of one bottle cap to open another is highly risky but it is the most realistic idea I have seen.

I think though that if there is a prize it should go to the buddys teeth idea.

put the lip/edge of the bottle cap on the edge of a tank boot/knife butt/tank neck edge/any thing with a half way stable edge and give the top a hard smack, comes off every time. :partyman:

why would you ditch all your gear to include your dive knife if your floating BAIT??? I would at least keep the knife if only to cut my dive buddy and swim like crazy away from him so that I did not have to share the beer. then I would use my dive knife to open my beer.

Oh by the way I am only kidding I dont want any of you to be afraid to dive with me in the future. \:D/
