Re: DIR approach
Thank all who have replied and offered advice and opportunities to dive. Unfortunately I couldn't make it out this weekend due to a prior obligation to DM a OW class. I am looking forward to diving with you all and learning new skills. I am available most weekends and am comfortable for any type of ...

Bob I whole heartly agree with your statement about looking at skills and diving attitude. I have not and will not discredit any other divers regardless of their training backgrounds if they have the attributes listed above. For me a lot of my decisions are based on training time and standerds to c...

Re: DIR approach
I would suggest you do your own research on a "team diving" approach rather than any one agency. Your instructor is way more important than the agency name on the card. The concept is very similar amongst most of the technical agencies. Go into it with open eyes and question everything yo...

Before this goes any farther I have dove with great divers from all agencies, I just feel the DIR approach for future training is for me. Not trying to start anything here or say who is better.

Re: DIR approach
If you would like to come out some time, just let me know! Not everyone can make our Wednesday dives. There are a number of us that like diving with people that are interested in further training. I'm sure more people will chime in. OK sounds good. I'm in the water every weekend/would be able to di...

Re: DIR approach
Why GUE? Lots of agencies out there to teach higher diving education that aren't cultish. I cannot speak for other agencies but my experience with the PADI system has not been entirely good. Just my opinion but it seems to be more about promoting tropical diving travel and gear sales. Which I under...

DIR approach
Just looking for little info on the UTD/GUE dives that go on here. I am about to finish up my PADI Dive master and would like to move on to another agency for higher diving education. I dive a 95% DIR kit already and love it, much more streamed lined . Just not ready to give up my Aries AI comp yet ...

I would jump on board going to Sund rock but work prevents me from diving Friday morning. The rock is one of my favorite spots, you guys will like it. When you stop by the shop to pay for you pass ask for a map, the site is easy to nav.

My suit is a USIA tri-lam that is about five or six years old.
Oh, and I should mention that I was not charged a dime for said fine service.
Thanks again, guys!

Some of my dive buddies saw one this last Saturday in redondo. They had pic to prove it. It was at 82fsw just north of the carousel. What really strang is it was mid morning when the sighted it.
