I've been to Cabo Pulmo in August, can confirm it's hot. It wasn't outrageously so IMO for general living, but I wouldn't go hiking at noon in the summer or anything like that. It's not hot in the ocean!

Snorkeling is great there too! There's a reef just off the beach that runs sorta parallel to the shore, with a bit of reef, a bit of sand, another reef a little farther out. Multiple rivers and creeks drain into the bay. It's got a muddy bottom and lots of sediment, which tends to make viz really bad.

The rocks look cool though.

Carl, if you can make it to the club dive this weekend I can try to find you a less floaty pair of fins to dive with. Everyone here is correct, though, that it's mostly incremental adjustments to weight, technique, and practice over more gear.
