Re: new dive assist board

Lol ok now I know not to bother with Greenlings :geek: I'm no fish species expert, but I thought the Kelp Greenling and the Ling Cod were from the same genetic tree or whatever it is called by people way smarter than I in that field. When it comes to how they cook up, they could not be more differe...

Yep, that's where they were. Though one was *huge*, the other was fairly tiny. I didn't realize there was such a size difference between the sexes?

Re: CLUB DIVE! CLUB DIVE! CLUB DIVE!

What should people bring? Just wondering, I know it's still early just wanted to get a jump on it. Apparently one of the organizers needs to get a spreadsheet going. Mariette and I will be bringing something tasty. You know, one of those things, that if nobody else enjoys, I get to eat them all! An...

Wow - amazing vis today! I'd say 40+ft! It was nice to get wet again after losing my mask a couple of weeks ago :( But it was an excellent dive - grunt sculpin, tubesnout, two wolf eels, a toilet and dinner platter set for one person..?, two species of nudi's... I know this isn't a great report with...

Re: PP Ferry, Dive #200, apologies to the iPhone

Are all those app's available for the iPhone also available for the iPod touch? Most of the iphone apps are available for the Ipod touch however this particular program requires GPS (Satellite) functionality that I don't think the Ipod has. Ahhh, alright. Not that I can afford an iTouch right now a...

Re: Need a new neck seal after only 100 dives

Hm, interesting on the latex vs. neoprene seals. My husband had a new neoprene neck seal installed on his drysuit and it lasted only about 20 dives before the first rip. Now rips 2 and 3 have shown up at about 30 dives. He doesn't wear anything on his skin and rinses it after every dive. My dry suit...

This is a cool thread. Even if some (most) of the things aren't implementable without losing money, someday someone might come along with a better way to implement them that won't lose money. Or get lucky. It's nice to have a list that LDS's can go to and say 'hey, why DON'T we do that?' These are w...

Aww, you guys didn't see Lefty did you? She was the biggest one out there when we saw them off the big island. Lefty is still out and about any time the mantas show up (except for when Calvin scares them all away). Did you folks know that Mantas are now protected by law in the state of Hawaii thank...
