Re: Dive show/H2O show in Seattle/Tacoma
From my understanding, the organizer has done a pretty good job of alienating the local businesses... thus the poor local turnout.

Re: Aeris vs. Suunto
Last time I knew, Aeris and Oceanic are all made by the same company, Pelagic. You'll find that the Sunnto computers are far more conservative. If that is a plus or a minus is up to you.

Re: CCR
Yup, not cheap but I have seen a bunch of used ones pop up on Rebreatherworld. Compared to other units, I think the flood resistance would be better with the enclosed lungs and bar over the top of the unit... Dewatering is another issue, but one you rarely need to use. My I am more concerned with a ...

Re: CCR
Up here, my rMs gives me a little over 3 hours until I need to change out my top canister. I only went through it once, but I don't remember exactly how much time I had on the second canister. When I was in Bonaire, I was doing 4 hours before I dumped the scrubber, mainly because I didn't want to ch...

Re: Question for the rebreather divers
I do it all the time. My CCR buddies always move after they get certified, so everyone I dive with is OC. As far as switching, I used to, but now I'm CCR only even on short/shallow dives... Train how you fight, fight how you train...

FS-CLX450, Size Husky-Medium
So I lost a bunch of weight, now my drysuit doesn't fit anymore. The suit is in great condition, with silicon neck and wrist seals. While a custom suit, it is similar in size to a XXLS. My NWDC price is $1400. Check out my Craigslist add for more info. http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/spo/457898142...

I think I still use the hose from my 1st drysuit (almost 20 years old).

Yup, there are Niagara river drift dives run with the Rochester Aquatics Center. Those are usually run in August. Happy April 1st btw.

Re: For sale: Tech snorkel kit $60
How difficult would it be to convert said snorkel to a closed circuit snorkel? I was also trained to only use black gear with blue H's on it; is there another conversion kit for that?

Re: Getting in shape for diving and for life.
I had my DUI start to get a little tight on me. I was starting to look at a new suit, full knowing that I am like a goldfish... I'll just grow into the size of my container.
Instead, I decided to go on a diet, and since January I've lost 60 lbs. Unfortunately I may have to get a another suit anyhow.

Re: re-breathers
I have to agree with Jeremy on this one. I made the decision to exclusively dive my rEvo over my OC gear. Is the rebreather practical for a 45 minute dive at Octopus Hole? Of course not, but the 'time behind the sick' is invaluable. I generally find those who disparage rebreathers as much as they do...

The bs is so deep now it smells like an army of dead moles has camped out here. Mark this day on a calander...I agree with everything Jeff has to say in this thread. Re: re-breathers
ok ive got alot of smart remarks but nobody has answered my question. I believe Rena b has made the most sense. Diving deeper is NOT and I repeat NOT the goal of recreational divers...Ever....NO recreational diver should EVER make a decompression dive unless there is a chamber waiting for them on t...
