Re: Tri Mix Fills
Having multiple sets is good to have. Especially if you are doing trimix. Most shops you have to leave your tanks their to get them filled and sometimes that can take a few days to do. It is also good to have LP's twins and some HP top off tanks to do topup's in the field if you are doing multiple d...

Re: All CAll - do we have any lawyers???????
I do not disagree with you but when talking is getting no where and this has been pushed thought for political reasons under a environmental hat without proper study. Then things need to be rechecked and unfortunately in our system of government checks and balances are done under legal terms. This i...

All CAll - do we have any lawyers???????
I have a question, do we have any lawyers on this board or does anyone have a dive buddies who is? We need to look at filing an injection against the continued removal of the wharfs and docks in the Puget Sound until a better environmental impact can be done on them. Most of these structures have be...

Re: Full Face and Radio
This FFM is getting a lot of attention in the tech community and by the military. It will be out late this month or first part on next as I was told by OTS. We and the military are waiting patiently for the CCR version to come out.

Re: tank sizes
Not traveling, just needed to know the difference in size (diameter specifically). It's for a cady for handicapped divers and the question came-up about relative tank diamters (outside measurement). If you can help I would really appreciate it! The standards are 7.25",7.5",& 8" d...

Re: Holy S that's deep
No, I wasn't part of that dive. I'm just saying, the >300' club is pretty small, and I'm not a member. Seriously- at depths below 250', deco obligations expand exponentially, bailout becomes a huge issue if you're on CCR, and just having enough gas if you're on OC is a challenge. Sure, people are d...

Re: Holy S that's deep
With a rebreather setup correctly it is not that difficult of a dive to those depths, Just takes a lot of time in deco. Lessee, here......460' deep. 100 miles offshore in the Atlantic ocean. "Not that difficult?" I'm afraid I have to take exception to that, Greg- it's extremely difficult,...

With a rebreather setup correctly it is not that difficult of a dive to those depths, Just takes a lot of time in deco. Take a book and your MP3 player with you. you do have to respect the OC that is a lot of gas to carry and to stage up for deco. Things imploding is not fun I lost in the last yrs a...

Re: 50 Dives in 90 Days Challenge
Okay how are you going to put this to the Tech heads that are on this forum as their are quit a few. Most of us do not run logs books anymore and have not for years. we do not track dives at our level but bottom time is tracked on the logs of our computers for gear maintenance purposes and bragging ...

that is what FUFU pack's (Tech Pack's) are for is it not. They have the comfort of a sport BC with the advantage of a BP/W.

Re: Gear to avoid?
They are all good what it comes down to is what type of diving do you do now and what you see yourself doing in the future as to what to get. Some gear will last only a few years (common gear), while others will last a life time. So what you get depends on what you plan to do as what to buy.

I want to go back and dive another mount to the north it drops form 130' on top to over 1000' all the way around and is only a few hundred yards across on top and a needle on the charts. that is were i thought we were going at first and i was a little disappointed when we went to the o...

you are right it was a sponge. When I saw it I had to take a pic of it. Looks like it had eye's. We were on a sea mount just about half way between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

I didn't know Deep Outdoors made a softback. Do you have a link, and can you slide a plate up in it? They make sport BCD's, soft packs, modular tech packs, and hog packs as well. Here is a link to thier catalog if you would like more information contact Tyler at (858) 513-1064. http://deepoutdoors....

Re: Harness recommendations
I have a OMS IQ Pack, Dive Right Trans Pack, zegal tech pack, and Hog pack. I have also spent a lot of time around Deep Outdoors packs. They are all good but the Deep Outdoors looks like it will hold up the best of all of them. And that is what I will get next. I like to have a little padding on my ...

Technical Wreck diving in Puerto Rico
I just got back form a week of searching for wrecks in a new area in Puerto Rico. We had a great time and got cooked by the sun down their. We did a lot of lines with the sounders and GPS and dropped markers then sent down divers to do bounce dives on the high probability targets. Most of the hunti...

Re: Bottom Timer and Tables vs. Computer
Bottom timers and cut tables are good. But they do not give you the freedom and flexibility a computer can give you. A good technical dive computer will figure out the little things that have been mentioned as well as many other parameters including workload at depth and sac rates to figure total de...

Re: Bottom Timer and Tables vs. Computer
I have dove with lots of DIR divers and with many different mixed groups. Especially over the last two month long trip up and down the west coast. I have found very little difference in Tech computers at the end of the dive, with the exception of a few. Maybe a minute of two is all. But many do have...
