I would support Nanaimo too - several good wreck dives there. If you get a passport another good place that is easy to get to is La Paz, in Baja California, Mexico. FWIW, Plan Your Dive shows the current station about half way between Edmonds and Kingston. It predicts slack at 5:02 and max current of 0.3 kt at 7:33.

I can also recommend Dusty's Z Light. Bought one for my wife in Dec. Now another diver in my group is diving one. I am waiting for my old can light to die so I can get one.

Most regular divers here use can lights. There are a couple locals, Dusty2 and H2Odoctor that make can lights for a good price.

Dove the West Wall with Don at Pacific Adventures yesterday. Caught a couple interesting crabs, and cannot find a clear match in my books. My best guess is golf ball crab.
