Re: Advice on second hand camera...

Another issue with these is the battery. Having it rechargable is nice, but if you are at a dive site and your battery runs out you are kind of SOL unless you have another one with you. And a gal I work with has a similar model, and can't get the battery to hold a charge for more than a dozen pictur...

Re: Forsale Divelight

Out of curiosity, what kind of rechargable batteries are they? Is it the UK pack, or something that comes with a charger, or would I need to have my own charger?

I've been hanging out with too many male divers I think...because I find myself thinking "how cool!!" when I read this thread...

...and for what it's worth, I can probably find a place to get an inflatable shark. Just sayin' is all...

Re: Thursday May 21

My car failed at the ferry landing at Orcas.   I was able to get it started and drive home, but the next ferry doesn't get me into Anacortes until 9, and since 10:30 is awful late for a dive by most people's standards...I guess I'll be staying on the island. Doesn't make much s...

Re: Friday May 22nd

I think I'll be doing Redondo Friday morning. The first time I was there was the club dive, and it was so ungraceful that I'd like a second shot at it :der: Not sure when yet, depends on if I can get my hands on another tank or not...

So far it looks like: Early dive: Pez, Matt, Norris? Later dive: Pez, Matt, myself, Bassman?, Sean?, Norris? I'm so excited!! I haven't been on a night dive since January! You can't (shouldn't) night dive under the ice, and it hadn't thawed before I left... If anyone can dig up an extra light withou...

Friday May 22nd

If I'm coming down for Thursday night, then I'm certainly going to get in a dive Friday as well...anyone else want to dive that morning/afternoon? I'd love to get in two dives if possible, and get the most out of my weekend, but I'd either need another tank, or a site close to a dive shop where I co...

Re: Lopez Island dive sites?

It seems that much of the diving done up here is boat diving. The shores on the island typically aren't very conducive to diving. This site has some good listings: http://emeralddiving.com/local_sites_sj.html

Best of luck!

Hmmm? I might be able to get up that way, If elisaboo is willing to travel to Washington, then I should be able to get up that way for a couple of dives. I could even bring an extra Light Cannon for you. If I head that way, I would like to try to get two dives in. Not sure if I could convinc...

Oooo, would you really really dive with me Thursday? I'm itching for a night dive!!! I haven't done the Muk though -- good site? Would it be OK for a first dive at night? Also, be warned, I night dive with a little SL4 eLED as my primary...good enough back home in WI, but it's not as impressive as w...

Re: Lake Tahoe help anyone?

This is crazy, because I was just looking at the area and contemplating a job that I interviewed for...there's a dive shop in Reno that does diving at Lake Tahoe, you could try contacting them to see what they say: http://www.sierradive.com/ Also, remember it's altitude diving, so things are going t...

Thursday May 21

Disclaimer: I have no idea if the currents/tides/sites in the area are actually conducive to my proposal...if they aren't, then disregard this I suppose... So I don't get many chances to get in a night dive, as I usually have to travel to meet any of you. However, if I could get to a site by, say......

Where's the nudi in the first pic? Not sure what I'm looking at...sneaky little bugger... Second pic is the Red Gilled Dorid, aka Nanaimo Dorid, aka Nanaimo Horned Dorid, etc.- Acanthodoris nanaimoensis) The last two shots are Hermissenda crassicornis, or the Opalescent Nudibranch. - Janna ;) My ba...

Just wanted to brag about my nudibranch...

So I know it isn't as impressive as a lot of the other photos on here (or really, as impressive as *any* of the other photos, you are all very talented!) but I thought it wasn't too bad for a little Nikon point-and-shoot digital...I took this one at Edmonds on Friday the 15th, and it's probably my f...

Let me get this right....you are leaving the San Juans to go dive in our local sites? Will wonders never cease. Does no one dive up there? You are welcome to come to Sunrise (Gig Harbor) for a 10 AM meet on Sunday. It's a bit of a hump to the water but a very pretty wall with some friendly wolfies ...
