Re: Deception Pass or Skyline 4/30
I'm hosting the Marker Buoys on Sat. Friday at DP is as good as Sat. except for the 8AM splash, which means getting going like 6AM. :tomnic: Sunday is a tad bigger but more time friendly. Been pretty hazy up there the last 2x out. Current has been a bit late too. I don't know about Skyline. If anyon...

Re: Swimmers Ear
You used to be able to contact them directly. They would send you a packet of various sizes of ONE side. You figured out the size, and sent them back. The JBL's are easier to fit and easier to work with. Amazon is pretty easy about exchanges but I don't know if that would apply to a personal product...

Re: Possession Point State Park
I just got off the phone with Randy Kline, Parks Planner. Alarmed by the original post I read the plan: [State Park Property and Possession Point State Park Classification and Management Planning (CAMP) http://parks.state.wa.us/DocumentCenter/Home/View/6996 Nowhere in that document does it indicate ...

Re: Swimmers Ear
For local use with a hood the likelihood of losing a plug is about nil. OTOH, the probability of simply losing the things in the mess of packing up is high at first. I lost several pair and now use the red ones as they are easier to see/find. I'm also careful to put them away when I take them out, h...

Re: Tiny Female Seeking Wetsuit Advice
I hear you, but, the most important factor in overcoming that kind of anxiety is nice successful dives, and in appropriate measure. If you are diving less than once every 2 months you aren't going to get anywhere. Dive less than that any you will lose skills. You will not overcome that anxiety with ...

Deception Pass 4/16/16. Say 10-15 feet. A lot of 'Skagit' in the water. Better than 2 weeks ago.

Re: Lumpies at Redondo
They ARE sparse this year. Seen many lumpie shots from Bob? I have not found a single one, and only 1 snailfish. The hatch last spring was huge. I though the shallows this year would be crawling with them, whole schools of lumpies on the march. Hasn't happened and getting kind of late in the season ...

I think the flabby forehead is actually an evolutionary protection mechanism to minimize more serious damage. But I speculate here.

Re: Low exchange weekend?
Titlow, Fox Island Bridge, and Fox Island E. Wall are all well listed and described in NW Shore Dives. It would be reasonable to start with those for a number of dives until you figure out current timing. All are good dives. Your statement [Our take is that they'll probably be diveable until late af...

Re: Best 18650 Battery
You know, these discussions seem to get too complicated. Just go to Mountain Electrics and buy Panasonic protected 3400 cells as needed. http://www.mtnelectronics.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=59_88&product_id=55 If you want to go a tad cheaper most of the rest of the brand name 2...

Re: Best 18650 Battery
Since you ask....probably, it's safer. :supz: The more complete answer is, depends on what you are putting them in, and how you are charging them. Some lights and other devices have the protection built in. You have to KNOW that. If not you need to be careful about over discharge, which is the quick...

Re: Best 18650 Battery
There are supposedly 'real' Trustfires. I have a couple 26650 that are fine. Unfortunately most of them are counterfeit and crap. I was very very careful with the one's I bought and where I got them.

Re: Best 18650 Battery
Also because I don't care about running them down,I care about getting the last light out of them, as are my backups. Won't make any real difference. The cut-off is set so low (2.5-2.8v usually) that there is effectively no usable current below 3.0v anyway. Note - for lithium longevity try to keep ...

That is true.BillZ wrote:Rosario Beach would probably be the closest spot to you with decent visibility. If you are a new diver I wouldn't suggest Skyline wall - you can get in real trouble if you don't hit the currents right.

Re: Bellingham dive spots
Visibility is pretty poor right now due to the high rain and river flow levels.Shallow tends to be worse than deeper as a generality. The other generality is that B-Ham Bay is a lousy dive spot....period. Divers either tend to go north to Canada or south a ways to get decent diving. Skyline (Barrows...
