Re: Farewell to Pensacola.. Keystone 7/17 Saturday

So sad that I wasn't able to make it! Thanks to Delta I ended up being delayed and had to spend the night in Detroit of all places. I hope the dives were good! It's really sad to see you guys go, but I'm definitely planning a trip to Florida sometime in the future!

Re: Mukilteo Crabicide

It's difficult to tell a molted crab shell from a dead crab. Things eat the molted shells, and unless you pull the body apart and find the liver, I'd be skeptical of calling it a dead crab.

I saw a ton of crab molts there on Monday.

Re: Freediver moving to seattle

Up at Neah Bay the grey whales were feeding pretty close to the rock jetty. My husband dropped off the boat and met one face to face! But, these 'events' will probably be few and far between for you, unfortunately. If you need any info on the UW, feel free to drop me a line as I'm currently a gradua...

Cool, I head to St. John in August. Can't wait, although the lack of a dive buddy is perplexing.

There'll be a group of us camping out there this weekend at Hobuck. I'm not sure if the boats will be at the campground or at the docks between dives. I'm sure you could find us by locating the cars with dive stickers :P

FWIW.... Im gonna get my 5 bucks back from you this time Chad! :boxer: Good to hear you are in for the trip. You seem quite confident in your above post. With that confidence, I am sure you would not mind upping the ante a bit... say $20.00, $50.00, $100.00??? So who all is in on the lingzilla wage...

Can you bring it home from Neah Bay on the last day? If so, I might just be able to have my name as the collector. :joshsmith: :joshsmith: Don't forget science can't tolerate any holes, you gotta catch it by hand :smt064 Hehe, while that would be nice, we're obviously happy to just have one :) Don'...

Re: Neah Bay Part 2 (June 18-23)

I'm still trying to decide what to bring, but it'll probably include something I've foraged (morels, spring kings (porcinis), stinging nettles made into pesto), and some of my charcuterie stuff (bacon, pancetta) from a pig I got from a local farmer raised naturally/sustainably. Oh, and this past wee...

Cabezon Hunters

It turns out that the UW Fish Collection does not have a good-sized cabezon. If anyone is willing to donate a cabezon, that would be awesome. It doesn't need to be cabzilla, just a nice-sized adult (all we have are tiny ones). These fish are used for multiple purposes, including training observers t...

I hope the vis is better in Neah Bay - yesterday it was so hard to see (maybe 5 feet max) that cabzilla ran into ME (and no, I was not about to shoot myself in the stomach).

Did you have the preferred plan Matt?

I'm guessing it doesn't matter which plan you have though, a dive, by their definition, remains the same?
