Finally had a ratfish that would hang around for a shot.

Re: Finding the Corsair?
Is it out from the apartment building or the small pier at the north end of the beach?

Finding the Corsair?
Looking to potentially dive the Corsair later this week and I haven't been able to track down how to find the line out to the wreck.
Any help?

Per an e-mail with no return address, this is not a Quest slate.

Cove 2, 0630 Friday AM. Starting to get pretty chunky, but viz down to about 30 fsw was still about 20', but by the deeper areas, viz looked more like 10'.

Found Slate - Cove 2
Found a slate at Cove 2 on Friday morning. If you're missing one, let me know what was on it and we'll get it back to you.

Re: 40th bday trip ideas
Palau is also a great location. Getting there takes a day, but it's easily done. Palau Pacific Resort is very nice, with good snorkeling right off the beach, and some interesting land tours to be had.

Cove 2, 0650 Friday. Viz about 15' below 30' or so. A little better in the shallows.

Re: Future of Mukilteo Diving
I might have missed something but it looks like the .pdf conflicts with the text in the article. The drawing reflects a potential marine preserve/ dive area pretty much from the existing oil dock to the ferry terminal, but with a marina right in the middle.

Damn, only version for L/XL with pockets is #$*% pink. For $10, it's almost worth it....almost.

Re: Viz Reports Thread
Cove 2, 0630 Friday, just after high tide. Another nice morning/ night dive at C2 with viz a very nice 20' of so surface down to about 80 fsw -ish, then picking up some particulates down to the bottom of the beams.

Cove 2, 0645, just before +11 high tide. Able to see bottom from first yellow buoy along ferry line. Viz around 25-30' and able to see entire Honey Bear from about 15' down slope at mid-ships, and seeing surface ripples from 40'. Awesome!

Cove 2, 0630 Friday, +1 low tide. 10' in the shallows down to about 25', then opening up to about 15-18 at the beams.

Re: Viz Reports Thread
9/4, 0630 Cove 2, almost 0' low tide. Shallows, 2-3', opening up to maybe 5 down to 35 fsw, then about 10 at the beams. Might be combo of tides and recent rain, but it's the definition of "craptastic".

Re: Viz Reports Thread
Cove 2 was very nice this afternoon. Easily 20-30 at the beams (get by without a light), and from 50' at the brick pile, you could easily see the surface ripples. Viz was certainly better down below about 40 or so.

Re: Cove 2 Shower?
Need to let it hit the parking lot and wash down all the oils and rubber before finding it's way into C2. Jeeze... Maybe those showers are the root cause for the sunstar die-off. (no, I'm not serious!)

Cove 2 Shower?
Anyone know the story on the Cove 2 shower? Per one of the local fishermen, we were told that due to chlorinated freshwater dumping to the saltwater, the EPA shut down the shower. Any truth on that one? Seems kind of strange with the superfund site nearby!

Re: Dive light better suited for the PNW area
I've been using the DRIS 1K for a couple years here in Seattle as a primary and it's been a great light, even out-shining some of the Solas out there. With the 3 C batteries, it seems good 5-10 dives, and I do have a video head for the light. I also have a 1K shorty that's just as bright, but doesn'...
