Video's up!

We're doing 2 videos. The first one is footage of the main shaft. The second one will feature footage from the passages

Kick ass! :supz: :smt038

Ask Edge (or maybe tell her to stop lurking over your shoulder) if it was as disorienting as it looked to be taking video in total darkness in an overhead env. The video looks freaking great regardless.

You know me too well! I WAS looking over his shoulder!

Hell yeah it was disorienting! Not so much the darkness, but the shaft being almost vertical (TWSS). In the video you can tell I have the camera pointed down the shaft so it looks like we are traveling horizontally - then you see bubbles coming straight at you. Weird.

According to Joe, TWSS has come down to just a look. Joe, could you video "the look" for us? You pretty much have it perfected. We could also use a TWSS emoticon - Spatman?
Thanks.

That was pretty durty. More video, and what was the soundtrack!? I want that!
I wonder how fast H20Doc, NWBrewer and I could wire up a small frame circular light around the camera, to really light up the entire area for footage? >0]

This was Jeanna's first time using that kind of camera set up, so the lighting (especially the right side) is a bit off. It's driving her crazy to see it on video now.

The music is Massive Attack, as is the music in the first mine video. Come to think of it, I used them on the Diamond Knot video as well.

Multiple XP-G's with floody reflectors in 2-3 light heads is going to make some SWEET video lights.

Yeah, build them in a ring around the lens, and the whole screen will be lit up!

I would suspect the ring around the lens would work well for perfect gin-clear vis, but other than in the mine, I suspect it would cause heavy back scatter. I'd recommend off-angle lighting with multiple light heads flooding the screen area.

The easiest solution might be right under your nose... I know of a few people with extra 21w, 35w, and 50w HIDs who would be willing to loan them out. Strap the canisters to the camera like Scott already has and you've instantly improved, possibly fixed, the lighting issue. K.I.S.S.

Just sayin...

Yes, the reflectors will work great on it. Let me know when you want it, and don't f*** it up.

They'll be out soon, I have at least one planned to mount under my little camera with 4 of them. We'll see how it works.

EDIT: Oh yeah, TWSS. :partydance:

Sweet Vid!!

Jenna, I still say, just make the boys carry some nice big 50 + watters with 110 degree reflectors ... They are just being so selfish wanting to carry only their primary signal lights ;) They should be able to hold two on one hand no problem, or even a couple video reflectors on goodman handles they can switch out to from time to time...
